Medical Summary Estimated age: Microchip noted on Intake? none at intake. O found dead in apt, next of kin doesn’t want the dog, brought to MACC by police. When entered intake room defecated soft, but formed stool, friendly, allows handling, very very treat motivated, energetic. P = 130 R = eupneic, taking treats while examining, unable to get RR BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: mild tartar and gingivitis PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: MI, both testicles descended, normal consistency MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Assessment mild dental and periodonta dz, otherwise apparently healthy long term rec consider dental px Planok to neuter Prognosis: good SURGERY: Okay for surgery
Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, closed mouth.
Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Jumps up lightly.
Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds.
Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds.
Toy: 1. Minimal interest, takes toy then loses interest.
Summary: Justin displayed no concerning behaviors on his assessment and was social throughout.
DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT:
5/7: When introduced off leash to the female greeter dog Justin solicits play with bows and paw slaps, with ultimate intent to mount. He takes correction though persists afterward.
5/8: Justin continues to engage in and solicit play with the ultimate intent to mount the female helper dog.
6/17- 6/19: Justin displays soft and bouncy body language when interacting with a playful female dog.
6/20: Justin engages in mouthy, wrestling play with a female that enjoys mouthy play.
6/21-6/26: Justin engages in the same mouthy play with another male dog.
