Recheck came into medical overnight injured and needs DVM Intake Exam: Estimated age: adult female, ~3-5 yrs; Microchip noted on Intake? scan negative; History : found/stray, reported injured; Subjective: QARH; Observed Behavior – calm, vocal and will bite due to injury; Evidence of Trauma seen – yes, would not get up to stand on hind legs, reported limping/not using right rear leg; Objective **Caution very vocal/painful during exam, will try to bite – used muzzle/ + limited PE; HR = wnl R = wnl BCS 6/9; EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted; Oral Exam: mild tartar; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: nsf; NSR, NMA, CRT < 2; Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: female, poss. in heat MSI: Ambulatory x 2 (reported able to walk but limping on RR leg) would not stand on rear legs during exam, maintains sensation/motor ability just painful and does not want to use rear leg(s); limited palp. but dise have crepitus in right hip, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Rectal: not performed, externally normal; Assessment: right hind limb lameness +/- left r/o trauma/fx, IVDD, vs other; Rads: fractured right ischium + pubic symphysis ; Prognosis: open – good with proper tx – needs re-eval/ortho consult; Plan: cage rest + pain medication + monitor U/D + appetite; + Cerenia 16 mg PO SID x 5 days + carprofen 25 mg PO SID x 5 days + Hydro 0.25 ml SQ BID x 5 days; rec’ NH placement ASAP; SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to injury
