10/22/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: This gentle soul arrived at the shelter with another dog after they were discovered in a building stairwell. We are so happy to have had the chance to spend time with her between there and the amazing home she is about to land in forever (that’s going to happen so soon, we just know it) because she is such wonderful company. She’s the kind of slightly shy, perfectly-behaved dog that makes volunteers fanaticize about having just one more dog, one who could accompany us about our day, offering friendship and comfort without ever being distracting or rude. Despite looking as if she hasn’t had the easiest time of it (her fur is in bad shape), this little love’s manners are indeed perfect, down to how she walks on a leash, and how she appears house trained, and how she takes her treats…she would delight children, she would delight adults…she’s just an all around delight! Another volunteer writes: Shy, sweet and gentle, it’s clear this little girl hasn’t led a cushy life. She needs to feel comfortable to show affection, and underneath her neglected appearance a loving heart is beating softly. As we spent time together she came in for cuddles, her tail wagging softly as she opened up. Later in the day, every time I passed her kennel she came forward to greet me. Patience, love, TLC, a soft voice and gentle touch will bring out the best in this little girl. She’s waiting to meet her hero….is it you?
