Josie
Hello, my name is Josie. My animal id is #10210. I am a desexed female brown brindle dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 19-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as animal behaviour – not good with resident animals.
Josie is at risk due to being diagnosed with Canine Upper Respiratory Disease Complex and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other dogs.

BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: EXPERIENCE (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with the behaviors outlined below)
Behavior Asilomar: TM – Treatable-Manageable
Recommendations:: Recommend no dog parks
Recommendations comments:: No dog parks: Josie is reported to have gotten along well with some dogs, but to have had a personality conflict with one dog in her foster home. For that reason, along with her history of escalating to biting during conflict, we recommend avoiding dog parks until her behavior around other dogs is better known. Introductions to new dogs should be done slowly, carefully, and with positive reinforcement to build positive associations.
