02/20/16 18:51 BASIC INFORMATION Jordan is a 1 year old male American Pit-Bull Terrier. He was given to her owner as a gift and was in their care for a year. He was brought into our care center due to owner moving and unable to have pets. There are no known health or injury problems. SOCIALIZATION Around strangers Jordan is friendly and outgoing. He is gentle with both adults and children. He has lived with children ages 8-17 years old; he was relaxed and playful with them. He has no experience with other dog or cats. There is no known history of him biting another animal or person. BEHAVIORAL If stairs are too high he will not go up them only low steps. If the steps are high owners would carry him. He isn’t bothered when his bowl is touched while he is eating, and you can take treats and objects out of his mouth. He isn’t bothered with baths but when his nails are attempted to be trimmed he will flee. Your able to hold and restrained him and brush his coat. When unfamiliar people approach you or the home he is friendly FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW His activity level is described as friendly and playful with very high, he’s unique for being playful and having lots of energy. His favorite activities are running outside, play with her balls and chew bones and wrestling with her owner. Honey would do well in a family home with older children, she was mostly kept indoors, was house trained and rarely had accidents in the home. He ate dry Puppy Chow 2 times a day and would follow her owners around the home. When left alone he is well behaved due to being in the crate for at least 2 hours. On the leash he pulls hard and if off the leash he will run away. Honey will usually potty on grass. During intake Jordan had a loose body and allowed all handling from counselor to be scanned (negative), collared and photographed.

02/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jordan previously lived with adults and children ages 8-17 years old. The owner stated Jordan is relaxed and playful towards the children in the home. The owner mentioned Jordan is house trained, has a high activity level and well behaved when home being in the crate for at least 2 hours. At intake it was reported Jordan was friendly with loose body posture, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Jordan came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, he was friendly and playful towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Jordan was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Jordan was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Jordan appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Jordan greets two females with a soft, wiggly body. He does engage in running chase play and is tolerant of high energy females and takes corrections for mounting.
02/21/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION

When off leash with other dogs, Jordan greets with a loose, wiggly body. He enters the pen and engages in bouncy play with spins, bows and paw slaps. Jordan is very tolerant of the energetic helper dog’s pushy behavior. 2/22 update: Jordan engages in bouncy, spinning play with paw slaps and takes breaks often. However, he does spill over into attempting to mount the female dogs he is playing with. 2/23 update: Jordan greets two females with a soft, wiggly body. He does engage in running chase play and is tolerant of high energy females and takes corrections for mounting. 2/24 update: Jordan engages in soft, bouncy chase play with another male.
