I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 05/21/2016 from NY 11215, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

05/21/16 12:38 Basic Information Jewel was brought in as a stray by police after being found tied up. Officers say Jewel was very friendly and allowed them to easily handle her. Behavior during Intake Jewel was very friendly during intake. She immediately approached counselor and allowed petting and ear rubs. Jewel allowed all handling to be conducted, and sat when instructed to. Jewel showed no signs of aggression during intake.

Jewel walks calmly on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, wagging tail, open mouth. Jewel was calm and relaxed during handling. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Jewel was not interested in toys. Jewel did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is likely crouching, may have long lip or lip lick. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy 1. No interest.
