10/16/16 17:22 Baisc information: Jesus is an american pit bull terrier who was surrendered due to his behavior while with his owner. Socialization: Around strangers Jesus is friendly, outgoing and plays somewhat rough with adults and children. Jesus has been around children ages 5 years old and up around them he is playful. Jesus has never spent time with other dogs but when he sees them he gets very excited and attempts to chase after them. Jesus will also chase after cats that that he sees on the street. Behavior: Jesus will use the bathroom indoors and will chew on doors, shoes and sofas. Jesus will also bark when he hears loud sounds. For a new family to Know: Jesus is described as excitale and pushy with a very high activity level. When at hoem Jesus will follow around his owner and likes to play with chew toys and balls. Jesus was kept indoors and outdoors. Jesus was fed boiled children and is not house trained. Jesus has not been crate trained and knows the commands sit and “go outside”. Jesus lieks brisk walks on a leash and will run away without a leash. Intake behavior: Staff was unable to collar or take pictures due to Jesus being very energetic and jumping on and toward staff.Jesus was otherwise very friednly and allowed staff to pet him and would attempt to lick staffs’ faces.

KNOWN HISTORY: Intact, Owner Surrender Previously lived with: Adults Behavior toward children: Jesus is friendly, outgoing and plays somewhat rough with adults and children Behavior toward dogs: Jesus has never spent time with other dogs but when he sees them he gets very excited and attempts to chase after them. Behavior toward cats: Jesus will also chase after cats that that he sees on the street. FG/RG: Unknown Bite history: None reported Housetrained: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Jesus is described as excitable and pushy with a very high activity level Other notes: The owner said that the dog keeps on escaping and getting loose in the neighborhood; When asked how the dog is escaping the client said that when people open the door he runs through and that he will also dig holes under the fence. SAFER ASSESSMENT: 10/19/16 Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft but a bit distracted. Squeeze 1&2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Summary: Jesus displayed no concern during his behavior assessment though he may benefit from daily physical/mental stimulation as an outlet for his exuberance/energy. PLAYGROUP: According to Jesus’s previous owner, Jesus has never spent time with other dogs but when he sees them he gets very excited and attempts to chase after them. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Jesus engages in gentle play with male and female dogs. When another intact male attempt to mount him, Jesus offers correction. The Behavior Department recommends that Jesus be placed in a home with dogs that match his gentle play style and that a thorough dog-dog interaction is conducted to ensure compatibility.

He displays bouncy body language and attempts to solicit gentle play. He is slightly sexually motivated, attempting to mount the female, but immediately listens to handler interruptions and continues to play. 10/19: Jesus displays soft body language when greeting a neutered male dog. He solicits and engages in gentle play. He may attempt to mount but is able to listen to handler interruptions and continues to play. 10/20: Jesus is initially nervous as he engages in play with male and female dogs. He relaxes as the session continues.
