A volunteer writes: I had to take a closer, second look at Jesse. He has these tiny black spots over his fawn coat that looks as if someone took a fine tipped sharpie and gave him a few polka dots! Alas, it is actually his fur, and one of the most distinctive markings I have seen in a long time! But Jesse has more than just a unique look; he has an excellent personality, too! Rather submissive, he is so eager to please. He walks beautifully on the leash, seems housetrained and loves to show off his commands, “sit” and “give paw.” Found tied up with his puppy buddy, Jake, Jesse lived briefly with children and got along well with them. This comes as no surprise, since he is super sweet, makes the most gentle eye contact, and loves to sit by your side and be petted and talked to. He’s done well in doggy playgroup and aced his behavior evaluation. Jesse is a dog not to be missed. Ask to meet him today!
Another volunteer writes: Jesse is perfection in a petite little pittie package. He’s sort of that slightly shy, quiet guy in the corner of the dance that you may overlook, only to find out later what a mistake that was because he’s a total catch!! Definitely the kind of dog you bring home to Mom. He walks perfectly on the leash, sits patiently for treats, takes them sooooo gently, and then stays sitting and waiting until you are ready to get going again. What a gentleman! He’s sweet and affectionate and wants to be close, but doesn’t rush into lots of kisses on the first date. Jesse is calm and easy to handle and I can see him doing great with someone that wants to break into the realm of big-dog ownership, but isn’t quite ready for a Hulk just yet. He’s the perfect mid-sized, mid-energy companion and I just adore him!
Another volunteer writes: I can’t help myself. I am head over heels in love with Jesse. His eyes are like two pools of melted Hersey’s kisses. Just one gaze into his eyes will melt your heart. Jesse IS love. All he wants are pets and affection. Soft caresses on his cheek and he is yours! He is so well mannered, its incredible!

ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Jesse so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
