07/11/17 20:21 During intake Jerry was very friendly and outgoing, he became a bit nervous when staff attempted to place a slip lead around his neck. Staff turned this into a game with him and were able to get him onto it. Once on the slip lead Jerry tugged a little on the leash but appeared to want to explore his surroundings more then anything else.

A volunteer writes: Sweet, Sweet Jerry…Jerry is an all around great dog, he walks well on leash, takes treats gently and was friendly with the other dogs he encountered on our walk. Jerry loves treats and will sit when… he sees them. Jerry appears to have low to medium energy level and prefers kisses and hugs to playing. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 2. Dog follows at the end of the leash, a bit distracted, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game Squeeze 1/ 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog sniffs, then turns away. Summary:Jerry displayed no concerning behavior during his handling assessment.
