I am a neutered male brown and white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 1 MONTH old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 10/23/2016 from NY 11434, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

10/23/16 13:23 Upon intake Jenga was very friendly. He greeted everyobe in the loby. He was excited and playful. He jumoed up and down to solicate attention and licked the counselors face. He accepted treats. He listend to the command sit and stay from the counselor. All handling was allowed.

KNOWN HISTORY: N/A Unaltered, Stray SAFER ASSESSMENT: 10/25/16 Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog stands with his tail low and wagging, and comes toward the Assessor in a friendly manner when the Assessor ceases moving. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Dog may lick hand. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Dog may lick hand. Toy: 1. No interest Summary: Jenga displayed no concern during his behavior assessment. Jenga was brought in as stray so his behavior around other dogs is unknown. 10/24: When off leash at the Care Center, Jenga greets with a tense posture; high head, tail and hackles. He eventually loosens up and bounces with the female helper, ultimately attempting to mount her. 10/26: When introduced to a playful male dog, Jenga begins to displays stiff body language and follows behind the male, standing on his toes. 11/3: When interacting with a female dog, Jenga displays stiff body language. He continues to remain in close proximity to her, but is never able to relax his body. He tolerates her play solicitations but does not engage.
