A volunteer writes: I wasn’t going to walk Jayden as other dogs required my attention, but when I put my hand up to his kennel and he nuzzled it – well, I changed my mind immediately. He’s a gorgeous, gorgeous boy…long, elegant legs, a gorgeous prance and he’s little stubby tail wags in friendship. He’s likely housetrained as he pottied the moment we were out the door and pulls so hard on leash we came into the backyard for off leash time. His coat shines, he’s social and friendly and since he’s a bit too thin is being fed an extra meal daily to help him gain some weight. He loves playing fetch, can catch the ball on the fly and brings it back for another toss. From time to time Jayden will drop the ball in my lap, chomping it and allowing me to touch it while still in his mouth. Jayden’s other favorite thing is a good head massage, and as he rolled into me for petting, leaning in close, he put his head in my lap closing his eyes and savoring my petting. At the end of our time together he hopped right back into his kennel and turned to give me a smile. Jayden will need some leash work but he’s smart so will learn quickly with the proper positive reinforcement training. A snuggle boy and terrific ball player he’s looking for a new home team with whom to play endless games of fetch and enjoy plenty of cuddle time.
