Behavior:
Jaxy was difficult to remove from her kennel she had a fearful body language in the back of the kennel trying to escape and was showing her teeth. Once she was removed from her kennel she still fearful of the shelter environment she walks with a low and fearful body language. Jaxy was extremely fearful with his ears back, body low, and tucked tail. She turned quickly air snapping the assessor during the look item. The behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Jaxy was not interested in toys.
The behavior department feels that she would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home.

Playgroup Notes:
When off leash with other dogs, Jaxy briefly engages in play when solicited, with the ultimate goal to mount.
2/25 update:
Jaxy is tense-bodied and cautious in the yard. He is tolerant of greeting.
