11/01/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/01/16 18:49 Jasper was found as a stray tied to a pole, so we do not have a behavior history for him. During intake, Jasper had a loose body and wagging tail. He jumped on counselor and allowed for petting. Jasper liked to put his feet on the counter and watch as counselor worked on the computer. He wagged his tail at every new person that walked by.
11/05/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Ready to par-tay? Jasper is ready to meet you! Gorgeous in his clean and groomed coat, he’s fun, lively and playful, ready to engage in a good game of tug with his rope toy. After I let him win (shhhh – our secret), he kept bringing it back to me for another game – I guess in his mind he was giving me another chance….how kind 🙂 He’s puppy-like bouncy on leash, went potty the moment we were outside, and although he does pull on leash he also ‘stops to smell the roses’ along the way. I tethered him for photos in the park and asked him if he wanted a treat and he sat immediately – I hadn’t even reached for one yet! I guess the answer was yes, he wanted a treat! Jasper loves toys, can amuse himself playing, but if there is a human in the area, a playmate is always appreciated. I let Jasper play on his own but every time he heard or saw me move he came and sat in front of me waiting for a treat. Smart boy! Jasper is a gemstone said to have healing properties, and our Jasper will definitely heal any case of the blahs. He’s ready to work his spell on you so come meet him today.

DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Social: These dogs truly enjoy the company of other dogs. They generally get along with all other dogs and can tolerate even very rude or inappropriate behavior. PLAYGROUP: Due to arriving as a stray, history around other dogs is unknown. Jasper engages in running chase play with male and female dogs. He at times attempts to mount, but continues to play once solicited. Based on observations made while in our care, the behavior department feels that Jasper may be potentially adopted into a home with other social, playful dogs. Slow introductions are recommended to allow time for Jasper and any resident dogs time to acclimate to one another at their own pace.
