Jangles
Hello, my name is Jangles. My animal id is #16211. I am a desexed female tan dog at the Staten Island Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 16-Dec-2017.
Jangles 16211 is at risk for behavior concerns (New Hope Only behavior determination). Behaviorally Jangles has been timid but social with caretakers after a few days to warm up. She was unconcerned with other dogs while on walk. She has severe chronic dermatitis which may account for some of her sensitivity and discomfort.
My medical notes are…

Summary:: Jangle is uncomfortable with strangers, may growl or warning bark. Out of concern for her stress levels, we feel Jangle is not a great candidate for a handling assessment at this time. It should be noted that Jangle warmed up to familiar staff within the first 2 days of intake, showing affection and allowing handling.

ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Jangle so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. In the care center, she displays a low to medium level of energy.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: NEW HOPE ONLY
Behavior Asilomar: TM – Treatable-Manageable
Recommendations:: No children (under 13),Place with a New Hope partner
Recommendations comments:: Due to Jangle’s discomfort with new situations and new people, we recommend an adult only home at this time. Jangle will do best with a New Hope partner that can re-evaluate once in a stable environment.
