05/31/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Googling the name Janeya, I learned that the name means: “You are honest, benevolent, brilliant and often inventive, full of high inspirations. You are courageous, honest, determined, original and creative. ” Wow, that’s quite a lot to live up to, and our Janeya is giving it her all. She’s gorgeous, fun, and friendly, not only going potty the moment we were outside but hopping off the curb into the street to do so. Sure seems like someone took the time to curb train her. Impressive! She pulled a bit on the leash but listened and responded, so I think that was just a matter of happiness at being out for a walk. In a backyard pen, Janeya jumped up on the bench to snuggle on my lap, gave me lovely kisses and confirmed the original intake notes by staff that she’s “friendly and affectionate”. I left Janeya in the pen by herself for a few minutes and she waited quietly and patiently, wagging her tail happily at my return. Her tail wags at other dogs passing our pen, and she then turns to look at me with a big smile. Her eyes are gorgeous and you can see the sweetness of her personality in them. Janeya is missing some fur in a couple of spots on her body which our medical team simply feels will respond to better nutrition and perhaps a soothing oatmeal bath. They don’t seem to bother her, and her coat in general is shiny and well cared for. She’s a glorious little girl ready to wag her way into your heart as she did mine.
