I am a spayed female black and brown amer foxhound mix. The shelter thinks I am about 12 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 12/11/2016 from NY 11435, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

12/15/2016 Exam Type CAGE EXAM – Medical Rating is 4 NC – SEVERE CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 31.6 LBS.
12/15/16 Monitor mass for bleeding. O: QARH. Eating/drinking well. INTEG: Mass over left shoulder/axilla – No current bleeding. Ulcerated areas ventrally are slightly moist, with mild amount of purulent fluid. A: Stable. P: No changes to treatment plan. Continue to monitor for any bleeding or changes to health status. Guarded prognosis. 12/14/16 Monitor dog with bleeding mass. O: QARH. Eating/drinking well. INTEG: Skin/SQ mass left shoulder to axilla – no current bleeding, mild serosanguineous discharge. Dried blood on lower leg. A: Stable condition and mass – no active bleeding. P: Continue to monitor while at BACC. 12/13/16 Recheck bleeding mass. O: QARH. mm=lt pink, moist, CRT<2 s. Eating/drinking well. INTEG: Skin/SQ mass left shoulder to axilla – two areas ventrally that are ulcerated, moist with small amount of purulent discharge. No active bleeding; small amount of dried blood on bedding and on leg. A: Mass as previously described. Clincally stable. P: Continue to monitor while at BACC. Guarded prognosis. 12/12/16 Recheck bleeding mass. O: QARH. mm=lt pink, moist, CRT<2 s. Eating/drinking well. H/L: Lungs clear, no coughing. ABD: NSF. INTEG: Mass left shoulder/axilla – small amount of bleeding from ulcerated areas ventrally. Ventral portion of mass is moist, no purulent discharge. A: Large skin/SQ mass, bleeding secondary to ulceration and/or self-trauma. Clinically stable. P: Guarded prognosis. Will need full workup (blood tests, biopsy, chest rads +/- CT scan of chest/mass, evaluation of local lymph nodes) prior to planning any surgical therapy.

12/11/16 Check dog with injury/bleeding on her side. Microchip scan neg. O: QARH. mm=lt pink, moist, CRT<2 s. Calm, a little shy, allows all handling. ORAL: Mod. to severe calculus, mod. gingivitis. EENT: Nuclear sclerosis OU. H/L: Lungs clear. No murs/arrhythmias. ABD/UG: Palpation WNL. Palpable, visible OVH scar. MS: Thin body condition. Amb x 4, slightly weak gait but no lameness. INTEG: Large, firm, irregular skin/SQ mass extending from left shoulder to left axilla. Several ulcerated areas, 2 ventrally which are mildly bleeding (dog is tryng to lick these areas). NEURO: Mild right sided head tilt. A: Geriatric dog. Age est 12 years. Dental disease. Thin condition. Right sided head tilt – r/o peripheral vestibular disease. Large mass – DDX: fibrosarcoma, basal cell tumor, SCC, other neoplasia. P: Cleaned off ventral aspect of mass with dilute chlorhexidene. Placed shirt and e-collar to prevent self-trauma. Start Tramadol 50 mg 1 PO BID x 7 days for discomfort associated with mass. Star Clavamox 250 mg 1 PO BID x 7 days. Guarded prognosis depending on undelying tumor type. Rec. Placement.
