Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper-Dog-A1087528 Jameson was brought into the Care Center after being picked up by the police on 8/25/16. Upon intake Jameson was described as very docile, and nervous due to surroundings, Jameson did allow handling by the counselor. Officer stated Jameson was picked up from the PCT; the officer didn’t have any owner information. A Care Center Counselor called and was able to retrieve information from the PCT. The PCT received a call to pick up a stray dog. The counselor was able to call the client who made the call to police. Client stated that it was around 4am and he was getting ready for work and heard a loud noise, he came outside and saw two dogs fighting. Jameson and another dog were outside fighting. Client stated that it was really bad and the dogs needed to be picked up. Client then called the police and stayed with the dog till they arrived. Client also expressed interest in adopting. During SAFER Jameson came into the assessment room relaxed and friendly he had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, he allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Jameson was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Jameson was easy to handle when engaged with the item. During the Dog-Dog interaction Jameson was relaxed when approached by other dog. He showed no concerning behavior. Jameson appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is wagging with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is open for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, mouths leash in a playful manner no pressure. Squeeze 1: 1.
