I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 04/21/2016 from NY 10025, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB.

04/21/16 20:49 Jade was very calm and allowed all handling during intake. Basic information: Jade’s owner of 14 years surrendered her to the shelter because she was going on vacation for a few months and cannot take the dog. She bought Jade from a breeder in Pennsylvania when she was just a puppy. Jade does have a skin issue that the former owner has not been treating for some time now. Socialization: Jade is very calm and friendly with strangers. She has spent time with children 2 years old and up. She is very calm and friendly with the kids. Jade is a very gentle and loving girl. She has never been around other dogs or cats. Behavior history: She has never bitten another person or animal. She really is a very sweet, little dog. Jade does get nervous when there are thunderstorms or fireworks outside. She will hide. She doesn’t mind if you touch her food bowl while she eats. She loves getting baths. She is a very easy going girl. For a new family to know: Jade is described as very friendly and affectionate. She is normally pretty mellow but can get nervous from time to time. When her owner is home Jade likes to follow them around or just be in the same room. She loves to play with stuffed animals. Jade deserves a loving home and a place to relax for a few more years.

Jade walks calmly on leash. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Jade was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. She was not interested in toys. Jade did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is likely crouching, may have long lip or lip lick. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy 1: No interest.
