BEHAVIOR:
Jackson came into our center after he was bitten by another dog that resided in the same home. Owner reports he attempted to take Jackson for a walk and Jackson tried to bite the owner. Jackson pulled hard on leash for his relief walk. He was very focused upon entering SAFER assessment room, staring at assessor intently. He increased distance when approached, unable to collar. Jackson constantly kept eyes on assessor, became very stiff and tense when touched. He knew commands sit, paw, lie down. The Behavior Team was unable to SAFER Jackson at this time.
ENRICHMENT:
02/03/16- Jackson was taken out for a walk by an enrichment facilitator. They observed that when he came out of the kennel he is very eager to get out and bit at the leash. The facilitator also observed that Jackson turns his head quickly and pulls hard randomly. The facilitator was able to pet Jackson.
02/02/16- Jackson was taken out for a walk by an enrichment facilitator. The facilitator observed that he came out of his kennel easily, but pulls really hard on the leash while walking. Jackson did not seek attention and the facilitator did not try and pet him. Jackson would only go back in his kennel when a treat was thrown in for him.
02/15/16 – Knows commands well, knows sit, lay down and paw all with loose body language, Takes treats nicely, Easy in/out of kennel, allowed petting and appears to wait for commands. Sit next to you and looks for affection.
