DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age: 10 years according to o; Microchip noted on Intake? positive 040775894; History : o/s; Subjective: BARH; Observed Behavior -very sensitive around his ears and will try to bite. Muzzled for exam. Objective ; P = wnl ; R = eupneic ; BCS 5/9; EENT: Eyes clear, ears have moderate purulent d/c AU, no nasal discharge noted; Oral Exam: muzzled; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: MN; MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat but has diffuse erythema on ventrum with scaly skin; CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Assessment: Chronic otitis externa AU; Geriatric; Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC; Cleaned ears and applied claro AU-will need longterm ear treatment but unable to treat at BACC due to behavior Administered 2.2mg/kg diphenhydramine IM once-unable to give further treatment due to behavior; Rec dermatology consult with placement; Prognosis: Good but will need longterm management; SURGERY: neutered
