Jack is a 7 year old neutered shih tzu.
Previous owner had Jack his whole life–7 years.
Jack was surrendered to the shelter today because they are moving to a place that does not allow pets.
Jack’s last vet visit was August, 2015.
Socialization:
Around strangers, Jack is friendly/outgoing, fearful and agressive.
If agressive, Jack will bark.
This dog has lived with children aged 13, 11 and 9.
If agressive Jack will bark.
With children, Jack plays gently.
Jack has no bite history according to previous owner.
Jack has never lived with other dogs.
Behavior:
Jack is friendly during the following:
Has his bowl touched while eating
Has his toy or other object taken away
Is given a bath
Has his coat brushed
Is held or restrained
Is disturbed while sleeping or resting
Jack is afraid during the following:
Has his nails trimmed or feet touched.
Jack barks during the following:
When someone unfamiliar approaches house or yard
When someone unfamiliar approaches you or family member.

Jack was described as friendly.
Jack’s activity level is medium
Jack’s favorite activity is taking walks.
When home, Jack tends to follow you around/be in the same room.
Jack likes to play fetch
According to the previous owner, Jack would do best in a single home with a yard.
Jack was kept mostly indoors and slept in the living room
Jack eats dry food; favorite treats are smoky beef and fruit
Jack was described as partially house trained and has accidents a few times a week.
When left in the house alone this dog is well behaved and goes potty indoors.
Jack was never left alone in the yard.
Jack knows “sit” and “come’
For exercise, Jack likes slow walks on the leash, walks off leash and to play in the yard/every other day
On the leash, Jack pulls very hard
When off leash, this dog stays close by your side, wanders but comes when called and keeps his distance, is hard to catch.
This dog usually goes potty on grass.
