01/13/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Did you know that brindle is sort of like a camouflage worn by the most awesome dogs? Jack is one of those! Whenever I’ve walked him he’s been extremely well-mannered — at first I thought he might be sort of reserved, as our walk was so business-like in nature (he has wonderful leash manners and seems housebroken), but as soon as I knelt down, he wiggled his entire back end as if he was just waiting for me to let him know the time was right! He is very friendly, affectionate, and playful. Even when he’s gotten a little jumpy with me in play he seems aware of his size and has been gentle. His former owner tells us he does well with children, is playful with other dogs, and is well behaved when left alone. Peeking through the window to Jack’s room, I feel like a kid watching their parents wrap birthday gifts; I always catch him being adorable in his cage — howling at the back wall (okay, heartbreaking, but I love a dog that howls and can’t help but think of it as a sign of loyalty), side-sitting at the front, or on his back, with all four paws stretched up to the sky, snoring! Jack would be even more adorable doing all of these things from a couch! Please come meet him at Brooklyn ACC and see if it could be yours!
