PROFILE :
Basic Info:
Jac A1068808 is a 2yr old male white with light black spots Dogo Argentino mix who was given to the owner as a gift from a friend as a pup & is being surrendered due to the owner moving to where pets aren’t allowed. Jac was last seen by a veterinarian in 2014 and currently has an issue with his left eye which was prescribed eye drops and ointment almost 2yrs ago.
Socialization:
Around strangers Jac is shy for a few minutes; he needs to sniff you first. He hasn’t lived with or spent time with children or other animals but with the adults in the home Jac was relaxed, gentle, exuberant (during play he doesn’t know his strength at times) & very playful with them. Jac has never bitten/scratched any person or animal. When he sees a dog on the street his reaction to them depends on how they react to him.
Behavior:
Jac is a very hyper boy. Jac isn’t bothered by the following: having his food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being brushed, bathed (loves the water, gets excited) or having his nails trimmed. Jac hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting. If someone approaches the home/family member he’ll bark but then wants to be pet.
For A New Family to Know:
Jac is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, & excitable with a medium-very high activity level. The owner likes how big & handsome he is. Jac enjoys playing with ball, squeaky, rope toys and games of fetch, chase & tug. He’s mostly an indoor only dog who sleeps in a crate & is walked 2x a day where he pulls strongly on his leash. Jac eats dry dog Pedigree food 2x a day and likes any kind of dog treats. Jacs’ known commands are “sit”, “stay” & “come”.
Intake Behavior:
Jac allowed to be scanned (-), when it came down to collaring and leashing him he backed away and barked. The owner assisted with collaring & taking his pictures. He then coaxed into the kennel with assistance from the owner.
Behavior Average:
Jac pulls a bit on the leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Jac was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He was not interested in toys.
