A volunteer updates: FAITH FOR PRESIDENT!!! Sweet and friendly, she’s ready to shake paws with her constituents, believes in dog treats daily, plentiful toys for all, kisses and snuggles upon request, no walls or barriers, lots of play dates, and exercise and nice walks daily. She’s sure to win the canine vote, now how about yours? I enjoyed her wonderful leash manners, her sparkling eyes and wagging tail, all natural – no political posturing here! Faith was surrendered to our care when her person developed some medical issues and can no longer care for her. She’s been well taken care of as her fun personality and nice manners attest to. Cast your vote for Faith today and make her yours!

A volunteer writes: Mention Ida’s name to staff or other volunteers and the immediate response is, “I LOVE IDA”. And what’s not to love? This tail wagging, sparkly eyed, smiley face, gorgeous brindle girl is social, affectionate, smart and oh so easy to spend time with. Likely housetrained she ‘goes’ the moment we’re out the door, and then does a little happy dance with the relief of it all. So cute!! Posing for photos, sitting for treats, shaking hands (I mean paws), and gently enjoying her reward treats, this girl’s got it all! A good game of fetch follows, Ida bouncing after the ball and bringing it back for another throw. When it’s time to relax, Ida’s up on the bench with me, giving me kisses which I happily return, and draping herself over my lap giving me easier access for some petting. I could have hung out with her all day! Greeting other dogs with an easy wag of her tail there doesn’t seem to be anyone Ida doesn’t favor. She’s ready to hand all that love over to you and lucky will be the person who gets to adopt this sweetheart. She’s waiting for you so don’t waste a second and come meet her today.

BEHAVIOR – JULY 2016
Faith was surrendered to the care center, though we have no information on her behavior in her previous home. She has been social and easy to handle since arrival, consistent with the behavior seen during her previous stay at the care center. She allowed all handling items with a loose body. She engaged with the toy and kept a firm hold, body soft and wiggly. She is playful and with other dogs in playgroup.
We feel her behavior is appropriately for an adopter with an average amount of experience.
Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is open.
Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft.
Squeeze 1 & 2: 2. Dog quickly pulls back.
Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy.
Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Faith is social and playful.

This dog was high energy and lose body during intake. She was jumping up a lot and played with the chew toy I gave her.
