I am a male gray and white am pit bull ter and american staff mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 03/30/2016 from NY 10457, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

03/30/16 15:17hrs Iceland displayed a soft body and wagging tail throughout intake. He would allow petting and would solict attention by rubbing his head against the Counselor. When Iceland was in the presence of another dog nearby, he remained calm but attempted to approach the other dog. He was collared, scanned for a microchip(negative) and photographed.

Iceland pulls a bit on leash. He was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up and mouthy (Light). He was excited and mouthy during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. Iceland played tug-of-war with the leash during tag interaction was not difficult to distract him. He took the toy with a soft body language. Iceland is a very active and jumpy dog. He became a bit over arousal grabbing at the leash and was not difficult to distract him. The behavior department feels that he may do best with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog repeatedly turns toward the Assessor’s hand, with loose body and open mouth, mouths the hand, but does not apply pressure and dog licks hands while lips are long. Tag: 3. Dog responds with her tail high, ears forward, mouth likely closed for at least half of the assessment item, body stiff and body checks the Assessor. Dog is often focused on other stimuli in the room. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place her body between you and the toy. Playgroup Notes: When off leash with other dogs, Iceland appears a bit sexually motivated. He spends time roaming the yard.
