A volunteer writes: Our gorgeous teenager, Ice King, on the cusp of adulthood is a Rock Star! So loved by staff and volunteers, just try walking the halls without being stopped by a hail of ‘I love you Ice King’ shouted out by staff. Go ahead, try it! He’s absolutely, stunningly gorgeous, his ear to ear pittie smile will light up a room, his snuggles will thaw the chilliest of hearts, and his fun, lively energy is guaranteed to make you laugh. He’s likely housetrained, good on the leash, and while he jumps up from time to time to play,
his goofy spirit and good nature will keep you laughing. He loves treats so will be easy to train with positive reinforcement, but his good will and loving spirit needs no improvement. Happy to run and play, and equally happy to hang out in your lap, he’s guaranteed to make you feel like there’s no one more important in the world than you. He’s waiting to meet you.
A volunteer writes: Joining us due to “no time”, his previous owner enjoyed Ice King’s company for such a short time that we unfortunately don’t have any history. At only 10 mos. old, we have the luxury of looking forward to the future, as opposed to whatever went on before. Ice King does bear the mark of a muzzle across his nose, and after spending time with him, lots of time, I have no idea why this sweet dog needed a muzzle. Ice’s coat is lush and soft to the touch, his weight perfect for his size, his eyes sweet albeit a bit confused, and he’s both playful and calm, exactly as he should be. His leash manners are lovely as we walk to the park, he poses for photos like a champ, likes to pick up sticks as we walk, and when I sat down on the bench, he alternated between sitting between my legs and coming into my lap for close cuddles and kisses. He stretches and smiles (downward dog anyone?), wags his tail and gives me a million dollar smile. Ice wants to meet other dogs we pass, ignored a small yappy one pulling towards us, and looks up at me for approval. Good job Ice King! Joining the female greeter dog in playgroup, Ice is initially cautious, but softens once he sniffs her. A calm, sweet, gentle cuddler extraordinaire, Ice King is hoping to find his true love with you today. There’s nothing ice-like about this boy, and he’s going to prove it you as he did to me.

Ice King stiffens and growls when greeting a large male dog through the fence. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 4/16/17 During his initial medical exam, Ice King was very tense and active. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Ice Man so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm.
