A volunteer writes: It was love at first sight…..This elder gentleman, dignified, handsome, soft and sweet….my first walk of the day and I already won the lottery! Humphrey’s little stubby tail wagged as I unlatched his door, he has lovely leash manners and is likely housetrained using “the facilities” as soon as we were out the door. Humphry has been beautifully taken care of and as we walked to the park his nice easy manner was a pleasure. Off leash in the back he sat by me as I took some notes, happy to be pet and simply be together. He showed off his ‘sit’, takes treats like the gentleman he is, and nudges me with his nose for more petting. Stealing a soft kiss (I usually don’t kiss on the first date but made an exception for this wonderful dog), I looked into his bright amber eyes and promised we would find a home for him. Won’t you help make my promise to him come true? He’s the perfect “senior”; he has spring in his step, has been beautifully taken care of and will happily spend the rest of his life quietly by your side. It just doesn’t get better than that!
