A volunteer writes: Of course, upon meeting this handsome, sweet, cuddly, friendly, housetrained, great on leash, paw shaking fabulous dog I immediately thought of Dr. Seuss. My second favorite quote from Horton is: “ASAP, whatever that means. It must mean Act Swiftly Awesome Pachyderm’ So, taking a little poetic license here – ACT SWIFTLY AWESOME PERSON, or you might miss out on the chance to adopt this awesome dog! Peeing endlessly the moment we were out the door tells me he’s likely housetrained, his leash manners are perfect, and after pooping he sits in front of me expectantly as if he’s waiting for a congratulations treat! He was, he got one and we carry on. Horton poses for photos like a pro, his eyes lively, intelligent soft and sweet. He sits when asked, shakes both paws, loved putting his head in my lap for petting, and when some kids scootered by us, coming perilously close, he was calm and unconcerned, wagging his tail gently. Horton has that calm easy way about him that says “I’m a good listener when you need me to be, a good snuggler when you need me to be, and simply the best friend you will ever have.” Well behaved and gentle, I’m telling you to ACT SWIFTLY AWESOME PERSON……..Horton is waiting!
For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following: http://urgentpodr.org/adoption-info-and-list-of-rescues. If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email [email protected]. Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process. * We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.* For more info on behavior codes and ratings, please click here: http://information.urgentpodr.org/acc-placement-status-descriptions.
