My name is HAZEL aka HONDA – My Animal ID # is A1087539.

I am a spayed female brown and white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 11 MONTHS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/15/2017 from NY 11236, owner surrender reason stated was ABANDON. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-100971.

06/15/17 11:48 Honda is a brown large spayed dog that is 11 months old. The dog was left abandon in a car and Police officers brought another male dog to ACC. During intake Honda was very playful; he wagged her tail and enjoyed rubs. She allowed being collard, scanned and photographed.

CANINE BEHAVIOR FOR: Honda A1087539 KNOWN HISTORY: Limited profile 6/15/17 Second stay in the care center. Unaltered female, Stray Previously lived with: Unknown 8/27/16 First stay in the care center. Unaltered male, stray Previously lived with: Unknown SAFER ASSESSMENT: 6/17/17 Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low, a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed or back. Squeeze 2: 2. Dog gently places her open mouth over the Assessor’s hand without applying pressure. Toy: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you. Summary: Honda was a bit fearful, but social towards the assessor. She allowed all handling. PLAYGROUP: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Honda was initially nervous but begins to solicit and engage in gentle play with male and female dogs. Honda was surrendered as a stray so her past behavior around dogs is unknown. The Behavior Department recommends that Honda be placed with dogs that match her gentle play style. INTAKE BEHAVIOR 8/27/16 Upon intake puppy was relaxed and allowed all handling. Counselor was able to collar and photograph. 6/15/17 Honda was very playful; he wagged her tail and enjoyed rubs. She allowed being collard, scanned and photographed. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 6/16/17 Hinda was wagging her tail, and easy to examine. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Honda so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. Honda displayed medium energy and movement throughout assessment. Honda will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)

06/17/2017 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION

When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Honda was initially nervous but begins to solicit and engage in gentle play with male and female dogs. Honda was surrendered as a stray so her past behavior around dogs is unknown. The Behavior Department recommends that Honda be placed with dogs that match her gentle play style. 6/17: Honda displays soft body language when greeting a novel male dog. She is slightly nervous, greeting the male with a lowered body. She displays bouncy body language and is tolerant of his mounting behavior. 6/19: Honda interacted with a female dog today. She was wiggly, but hesitant to approach. Eventually she does greet her but mostly keeps to herself and explores the yard. 6/20: Honda solicits and engages in gentle play in a group of playful male and female dogs.

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 11 mos Microchip noted on Intake? 98102001777 6466 History : Dog was here Aug 2016 after being brought in by police -3 puppies found abandoned in car. Dog was too young for spay then but got MC and waiver. Now dog found abandoned in car with another dog (Toyota) and brought in by police. (A1087539, A1115433) Subjective: BARH Observed Behavior – Wagging tail,easy to examine. Evidence of Cruelty seen – n Evidence of Trauma seen – n Objective T = P = 100 R = pant/ eup BCS= 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: normal young dog dentitia PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, MM pk, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: no spay scar seen, no vulvar discharge, normal mammary glands MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: n Assessment: Healthy 11 mo female Pitt Plan: routine intake Prognosis: excellent SURGERY: Okay for surgery
