04/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Hero was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Hero was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He took the toy away, body language was stiff. Hero rushed in quickly during the dog-dog test, but showed no aggression. Hero pulls hard on walks but during the walks he becomes frightened of the loud noises he would pull harder trying to escape or would lower his body to the ground. During the assessment he became afraid of the chair and the assessor hand. The behavior department feels that he would do best with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 3. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is stiff. Dog – dog 2. Dog approaches the helper dog by rushing in with her tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip long Helper:A1070174
