Basic Information
Hercules was brought in as an owners surrender due to owner having personal problems. Owner has had Hercules for the past nine years after adopting him from AC&C. Owner says as far as he knows Hercules does not have any injuries or health concerns.
Socialization & Behavior
Hercules is described as being outgoing and friendly, but still respectful with strangers. Hercules has spent time with children ages 10-12. He lives with an American Staff, and owner says the two are very playful and affectionate with each other. According to owner there have been no past issues of Hercules biting anyone or another animal. Owner says Hercules remains relaxed when owner touches food bowl, he says he’ll just stopped eating until told to do so. Hercules is friendly and allows owner to remove items from his mouth or touch his toys. Hercules does not like baths, but owner says he’ll deal with them without trying to escape. Hercules is trained not to get onto furniture, and becomes excitable and playful when someone unfamiliar approaches.
For a New Family to Know
Hercules is described as friendly, affectionate, and confident with a low-mid activity level. Hercules is kept mostly indoors, and goes out three times per day. When home Hercules is usually in one of his favorite spots, and no longer plays with toys. Hercules is free fed Nutro dog food. Hercules is said to be house-trained and never has accidents. Hercules is well-behaved when home alone, and understands the commands sit and down.
Behavior during Intake
Hercules was calm and friendly during intake. He listened when told to sit and accepted treats from counselor’shand. Hercules allowed all handling to be conducted, and showed no signs of aggression during intake.
