02/12/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Sweet Hera was found in the company of gentle Rocky (former Apollo). Hera waits at her door… for someone to come. She looks a little stern but is very soft mannered and welcoming. She and Rocky were someone’s pets right before they were brought to the care center. Hera might have had a litter or two. They were used to a home, some company, maybe a yard. And now… a kennel. Hera is a pretty gal who could use a few more pounds but enjoys a well groomed smoke-colored coat. She owns precious golden eyes. Her tail wags non stop although her demeanor is calm. She walks nicely, sits on command and is very greedy for treats. She fed a lot of little ones in her short life and it must have taken a toll on her. Hera comes right away at the call of her name and settles on my lap. She feels good that way, resting calmly and scanning her premises. She loves to be caressed and makes endearing little piggy sounds. She plays gently with other dogs in playgroups but favor the company of the handlers. She really knows how to make someone feel good. Look at her running towards a staff member she knows, jumping at her chest and cuddling. Hera is a very likable damsel. As she performed quite well on her behavioral evaluation, you might come and meet her at our adoption quarters, have a chat with her and may be take her home as your forever best friend. Hera will be waiting for you…
