A staff member writes: Hennesy is as sweet and smooth as a pup can be. Although she can be a little shy at first, once she warms up to you you’ll have a friend for life. A real people dog, Hennesy makes friends fast. She loves playing and is great around children, so she’s perfect for a family with a lot of love to give. All she needs is a good bone or ball to chew on and lots of love and she’s happy. Take Hennesy home with you today for your own little slice of southern comfort!
WEB MEMO:
A volunteer writes: Hennesy can go from sleeping soundly in her kennel to up and raring to go in record breaking time. When I approach her kennel and she hears that lock jingle, she beelines it to the front, almost as if to say, “Me? You’re picking me to go out?!” in a matter of seconds. On our walk, Hennesy trots along, her short little legs carrying her as fast as they can take her. Each staff member and volunteer shouts her name in hello as we walk along. It’s safe to say she’s everyone’s favorite. She seems very housetrained and has great leash manners. When I let her loose in the yard, she often does a celebratory zoomie in the yard, running from one bench to the other, jumping up on each of them, eventually landing next to me on the bench, one paw on my leg for a little bit of reassurance. She loves a good butt scratch and will shake her booty and wag her tail feverishly while you give her one. In her former home, she was reportedly shy around strangers, good with children, respectful towards other dogs and engaged in gentle play with them. Her owner found her on the street and kept her for nearly three years, but unfortunately had to surrender her for cost of vet care of an injury she sustained. Hennesy now seems to be at her peak: she loves fetch and playing with toys, will sit for you to throw the ball and drops it on command. She is beyond loving and affectionate and easily wiggles her way into everyone’s heart. The only thing she has left to do is wiggle her way into yours. Ask to meet her today!
