Basic information:
Hennessy is a 10 year old male, he is recovering from an ear infection but is otherwise healthy, and last saw a vet 4 months ago.
Socialization: Hennessy is very friendly and approachable with strangers, he will run up and greet them. He has lived with children before and is relaxed and playful with them. He will play gently with both adults and children, but has not spent time with other dogs or cats.
Behavior: Hennessy is described as being friendly, affectionate and playful. He has no bite history and is unbothered by loud noises. He has no resource guarding behavior and is unbothered by being pushed off furniture. When being bathed he will struggle to get out, but enjoys being groomed, and will struggle when his nails are being clipped. He has a high energy and likes to be around his family.
For a New Family to know: Hennessy likes to play with all kinds of toys, and has been an indoor dog. He eats both wet and dry food, and is trained to go on wee-wee pads. He is well behaved when left alone in the house and has previously been crated. He knows the commands sit, come and down. He will walk on leash well but also walks off leash and will stay close to his owner.
Behavior during intake: Hennessy had a very loose and wiggly body with counselor, and allowed for all handling.
PLAYGROUP: Hennessy’s previous owner reported that he has never spent time with other dogs.
9/10: When off leash at the Care Center, Hennessy greets other small male and female dogs but mostly keeps to himself while exploring the yard.
