He reportedly knows the cue ‘sit’, well behaved when home alone. Hennessy was nervous upon entering SAFER assessment area, but tolerated handling. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, eyes averted. Hennessy leaned into assessor during Sensitivity item, sniffed assessor’s hand, mouth closed. He followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, unresponsive to each pass. Hennessy did not pull his paw back on both Squeeze attempts. He showed minimal interest in Toy, though this may be due to environment as owner reports he likes to play fetch with bones. When off leash with other dogs, Hennessy was polite but quite shy at first but quickly loosened up and explored the yard with a female dog. Due to his level of nervousness, the Behavior Team feels Hennessy would do best with an Experienced adopter. He will benefit from a slow approach/slow introduction. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted.
