I have never met an English Bulldog with cropped ears…Helga is an adorable dumpling , though with her well groomed cow print coat, her short legs, cute underbite and corky tail… Helga is very determined, a little pushy without being obnoxious. She has a lot of character and likes to say out loud what she thinks..My kind of girl…She is fun to be with and really cute to watch…When I come to her door, Helga gives me a little bark… Let’s go ! Attending to business is a priority. I place a boa around her neck(she seems surprised but accepts) and off we go around the block. Helga is a good walker, no birds chasing and she rather cool with other dogs met. She behaves quite well with her peers, males and females in playgroups(a real plus..), although initially she was a little uncomfortable. Many pooches never attended a doggy playground in their life…Helga comes when called, sits on command and will attempt(unsuccessfully) to climb on a bench… I think that she needs a little work up… She likes treats and takes them politely from my hand. In a nut shell, Helga is a dog an outgoing personality and spunk. She has a lot of presence, is super cute, friendly and affectionate(she gives lobby kisses) and will make very happy a connoisseur of the breed. Come and meet our Helga at the Manhattan Care Center and take her home.
PLAY GROUP
10/18: When introduced off leash to other dogs in the care center, Helga is initially cautious of interaction. Once she becomes more comfortable, she engages in bouts of running play with both male and female dogs. Due to arriving as a stray, Helga’s history around other dogs is unknown, and it is not certain how her behavior around dogs will translate into a home environment. The behavior department feels that Helga would benefit from slow introductions with resident dogs in a future home.
10/19: Helga runs throughout the pen, briefly engaging with the other dogs.
