**NEEDS SURGERY ASAP FOR VAGINAL PROLAPSE**
3 Years Old, Medium Gray Mix, Female, 51 lbs, Stray 10/21/17
Medical: 10/21/17: DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age: ~3yrs; Microchip noted on Intake? No; History: Stray; Subjective: Observed Behavior – BARH. Attention seeking, allows all handling; Objective P = WNL R = WNL BCS 5/9; EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted; Oral Exam: Mild dental tartar; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: Female; MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, pyoderma at ventral abdomen; CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Assessment: Vaginal prolapse, +/- bladder entrapment; Plan: Sedated with telazol 0.5ml IV, administered carprofen 2ml SQ, hydromorphone 0.8ml IM, convenia 2.3ml SQ. Attempted to reduce size of prolapse with dextrose and sugar, applied generous amount of lubricant and used gentle pressure to manually reduce. Several attempts made to replace prolapses unsuccessful, tissue started bruising with areas of abrasion/ulceration. Opting for medical management at this time – keep tissue clean and lubricated. Rec placement – replace prolapse and spay with placement; Prognosis: Good with appropriate management; SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to vaginal prolapse
