WEB MEMO: A volunteer writes: As we walked through the care center, one staff member shouted hello to Hazel, lovingly referring to her as her “miniature horse” as she seems to stand as high as your waist and has a frame as sturdy as an ox. And when I asked another volunteer about her, she said, “Oh, the funny faced one?” Suffice to say, Hazel is unique looking. Her brindle is subtle, but her parrot mouth is quite obvious, and so so cute! She’s in excellent shape (aside from a few extra pounds) and her former owner says she’s never had any health issues. She’s been around kids of all ages, and is affectionate and playful. At dog parks Hazel has been shy with other dogs, but in puppy playgroup here at the center, she’s been outgoing and playful! She lived with another cat and though she wanted to play with the cat, the cat mostly ignored her, as cats often do! Hazel seems housetrained and in the yard, she had a bit of ADD. She’d play fetch for a minute, then grab a toy, and then was on to the next activity without much focus on any one thing. She is food motivated, sits for treats and eagerly gives paw when asked. Hazel has all the makings for a great family pet, the only thing she’s missing is YOU! Ask to meet her today!
