09/17/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Hazel is one of those dogs that’s hard not to feel for (her skin looks very uncomfortable and she has very kind eyes), but even harder not to fall for! She is very quiet and often curled up sleeping in her cage, but always happy to go for a walk. She has not been around other dogs or children, but her previous owner tells us she warms up quickly to strangers and is playful and affectionate. She has been great on leash on our walks (unless she spots a mouse…then she instantly transforms into a hunting dog!) and seems very housetrained. She is crazy for treats and they help bring her out of her shell if she’s a little shy at first. She gives kisses, wiggles towards me when I stop petting her to let me know she’d like some more, and is just so sweet! I didn’t expect it given her physical condition, but Hazel also loves to play fetch; she drops the ball right at my feet and is quite the athlete. Hazel will need some TLC, but has so much love to give in return…she’d love to meet you at Brooklyn ACC!
