WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes:
Puppy Hazel was found roaming the streets of New York City, all alone and in the bitter cold…She was just shy upon arrival but now, I found her huddled at the back of her kennel and absolutely refusing to leave the safety of her den…I did pull a little and made her hop her doorstep so not to hurt her forelegs. She ran through the yard, tail under her belly and trembling like a leaf. She is a thin damsel in distress with very long nails and dressed in a pretty latte coat. She stayed as far as she could from me and did not want any treat.. nor did she have an interest in a ball…She was so frightened…So often, though, youngsters are very resilient. Gentle persistence in meeting with her, giving her treats, presenting her with a toy or a ball and mostly, introducing her to her peers in playgroups, might just do the trick and wake up the charming and bouncy little girl hiding in side her….Stay tuned and let’s hope for a miracle on 110th street.
