01/29/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Hazzan came to us as an owner surrender as the owner is moving to a location that does not allow dogs. Hazzan is reported to seek attention and have gentle interactions with everyone he meets children and adults alike. He was reported to initiate play with other dogs he meets outside and interacts gently with them. The owner stated that Hazzan should not be around cats as he has chased a cat in the park a few months ago and killed it. Hazzan was bit nervous when entering the behavior room and he was very focused on exploring his environment. He allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items without displaying any signs off aggression. Hazzan took the toy item away with firm pressure, but was soft in body when the assessor attempted to take it away. Due to all behavior information the behavior department believes that Hazzan can go to an experienced adopter that does not have a cat or any exposure to cats. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body tense, mouth closed, lip long, ears back, lip lick. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (needs coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds.
