A staff member writes: Harley is an energetic sweetheart with a lot of gas in her tank! This blue beauty is revved up to meet you. She loves to cuddle and have her belly rubbed almost as much as she loves her toys. She is exuberant and affectionate and comes with a lot of love to give. If you like to play then this is the dog for you! Come down to the Brooklyn ACC and ride off into the sunset with this sweetheart.
A volunteer writes: Harley is one smart puppy. The second I unzipped my fanny pack, she just batted those eyelashes, sat right down, and looked up at me, waiting for her treat! Not only is Harley a smart cookie who loves treats (and she could use a few–she’s still looking skinny!), but she walks very well on a leash and she has a great nose. On our walk today, she managed to find every single discarded chicken bone in the neighborhood. 🙂 Luckily, Harley’s strong nose, food motivation, and intelligence seem to make her very trainable. She knew that when I offered her a treat to sit instead, she should just go ahead and drop that chicken bone. Harley would make a perfect companion for someone who enjoys bonding with their pup, teaching tricks, and being admired by everyone in the neighborhood for having such a dashing and smart young lady friend.

A volunteer writes:  You have to know I kept singing Barry Manilow’s lyrics to our girl…..”Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl, with yellow feathers in her hair…” As I didn’t have yellow feathers I gave Lola a light green flower and she wears it perfectly! Stunning does not begin to describe our Lola…her coat gleams, her weight perfect for her size, and she has the sexiest walk this side of the Mississippi! Her leash manners are lovely, she shows off her housetraining skills the moment we’re out the door, and her tail wags as we walk. Surrendered with her housemate Anabelle (1047414) we’re told that Lola has been with kids ages 3-10 and plays with them, knows ‘sit’ and ‘give paw’, likes to play with balls, toys and squeaky toys.  As soon Lola and I went into a backyard pen she found a tennis ball and dropped it at my feet for a throw. She brings it back sometimes dropping it again, and other times playing keep away with me, eventually lying down with it to give it a good chomp. In the park she’s keenly interested in the squirrels who taunt us and watches them avidly when they come close. Low key and gentle, sweet and friendly, Lola is looking for a new family to take care of.  Are you the lucky person who gets to take her home?
