01/25/17 16:41 BASIC INFORMATION: Harley is a brown brindle/white 11 month old, female American Pit bull terr mix. Harley was given to the owner 3 months ago and has no known health issues. Harley has not been seen by a vet while in previous owners care. Harley has been surrendered to ACC due to landlord issues. SOCIALIZATION: Harley is friendly and outgoing with strangers, adults and children. Harley has been exposed to children 3 yrs and up. She is hyper and may play bite when excited, owner stated Harley does not play bite with small children. Harley has not resided with other pets and when exposed to dogs in the street she is playful and respectful. Harley is also respectful when she comes across cats in the street. Harley has not bitten another animal or person within the past 10 days. BEHAVIOR: Hartley allows the owner to touch and come near her while she is eating. She also allows the owner to remove items from her mouth with ease. Harley enjoys grooming and does not bark when an unfamiliar person approaches the home or owner. Harley has chewed on the corners of the apartment wall and may need chew toys. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Harley is best described as a friendly, affectionate and playful dog. Harley’s activity level is high and she loves to go running in the park and going on car rides. When the owner comes home, Harley will follow the owner around. She enjoys playing with balls, squeaky toys and stuffed toys. Harley has been kept mostly indoors. She enjoys sleeping on a dog bed. Harley enjoys eating both wet and dry food. She will occasionally eat home cooked chicken and rice. Harley is house trained and prefers to go potty on cement. Harley is familiar with commands sit, stay and come. Harley enjoys going out for brisk walks and may pull lightly. Harley has been off leash and will wander but comes back when called. BEHAVIOR UPON INTAKE: Upon intake, Harley displayed a loose body, open mouth and wagging tail. Harley play bites mildly. Harley scanned negative and allowed all handling.

According to Harley’s previous owner, Harley is playful and respectful with dogs she meets in the streets. 1/26: When off leash at the Care Center, Harley immediately begins to bark at both the greeter and handlers in the pen, while seeking for an exit. Once the novel male approaches her, she momentarily stops barking and greets him with a soft wiggly body before reverting to her anxious behavior. She briefly approaches the greeter throughout the session. 1/31: Harley displays loose and wiggly body language as she greets a female dog. She immediately engages in and solicits high energy play. She may briefly mount the other female, but responds well to handler interruptions and continues to play.
