A staff member writes: When I’m around Happy I’m happy !!! She just has such a calm presence you can’t help but to enjoy being around her. Shes a senior dog who is well seasoned. She keeps her kennel nice and neat. Goes to the bathroom outside and gracefully walks besides you. She is just the best cuddle buddy. Sit down right beside her and she lays her head on you. She loves to be rubbed especailly behind the ears if you stop rubbing them she wil push her face under your hand to try to get you to keep going. When the walk and playime is done she goes back in to her kennel with no problem. She is just a beautiful spirit and she desrves to be in a peaceful enviorment where she can continue to be the loving affectionate dog that she is. Want to meet her ?? Come to ACC and visit !!!
Happy came in as a stray so her history is unknown. She was brought right back to a kennel so counselor did not interact with her, but when counselor approached her kennel door she wagged her tail and allowed for petting. She kept her head low but did make soft eye contact with counselor.
PLAYGROUP:
Happy was brought in as a stray so her behavior around other dogs is unknown.
9/24: When off leash at the Care Center, Happy greets the male helper very briefly but mostly avoids any further interaction. Instead she sought attention from the handlers and explored the yard.
