Guereo means warrior in Spanish but our Guereo does not seem to belong to that “club”. I saw him being brought to the care center by a good samaritan and waiting patiently and calmly in the lobby amidst a crowd of visitors even counting 2 small well mannered dogs. What a magnificent pooch, well made, healthy looking and dressed in a very shiny and perfect brindle coat. Bright amber eyes complete the picture. He is a true work of art!!! Guereo is a bit aloof and shy. He does not carry valiantly his tail and war is definitively not on his mind… He is not at his place and he knows it. So, he acts slowly and cautiously, marks his territory and goes with the flow.” Better to check this place out before to make the wrong move…” I am joking…or am I not? This is how I i would act in any new situation if I was Guereo …Guereo walks beautifully on the leash, doing his business on the way. He poses without a whisper for pictures. He takes treats very gently from my hand. He accepts caresses with a gentle look in his eyes. Given the great opportunity to meet a lovely and pretty doggy girl, Ms Paige, he blows his chance, acts disinterested and just voids on the poles of the pen…How is that? I bet Guereo will tell us a little bit more about him as time goes by. Right now, he is a careful kind of guy, “feeling” the place, getting used to things, people and other dogs. He might be a savvy dog…. I like Guereo, his beauty and calm manners. He is young at 3 years of age and has a lot of time ahead of him to make a new owner proud and happy to have him as a pet. Guereo is at the Manhattan Care Center.
