SAFER:
Griffin came into the shelter as a stray; his past behaviors in a home are unknown. Griffin was fearful and tense upon intake. When the counselor approached, Griffin began to tremble and snapped; he was not collared during intake due to his fearful behavior. Griffin did show some improvement in the shelter by Soliciting attention from staff.
When Griffin came into the assessment room he was a bit fearful he had a tense body posture when interacting with the assessor, he did solicit attention by rolling over on his back and muzzle nudging, he allowed all handling from the assessor. Griffin was relaxed during the tag interaction and during the resource portion of the assessment. Griffin was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Griffin appears to be sociable upon a slow approach. Griffen has displayed appropriate warning when uncomfortable (growl, snap, lunge); he has shown to be fairly sensitive towards sudden movements and loud noises. The behavior department recommends an experienced adult home only.
