10/02/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/02/16 08:26 Grace Potter was brought in as a stray. The officers were able to walk her front paws out of the car but she stopped and and a tense body and looked around slowly. She allowed the couneslor to leash her and with soft talking she finished walking out of the car. She walked into the care center slowly with her tail between her legs. While in the care center she kept her head down and sniffed the floor. When presented with the microchip scanner she sniffed it breifly and then continued to sniff the floor. She did not flinch, step back, or duck her head when scanned. When the surrender handed the couneslor the leash, she started to wag her tail (still between her legs). She walked into the office with the counselor while sniffing the floor. She was easily walked onto the backdrop and sat for her photo. She would turn her head away from the camera but after the couenslor making funny noises, she turned her head for one photo. She was sitting and was not bothered when collared. She was not interested in the dog treat that was given to her.
10/11/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: There is just something about Grace Potter! She can be very bashful and nervous, but so, so sweet! She is quiet in her cage but has started doing a very subtle wiggle when I approach and sometimes even submissively lifts her paw (she’ll offer it for treats, too!). She wears her heart in her facial expressions and always seems to be taking everything in. She comes to us as a stray via NYPD so we don’t know about her past, but she looks well cared for and seems housebroken. She can be very affectionate — propping her paws up to solicit petting and making sweet eye contact (even with new people we encounter in the hallways!), but often her nerves get in the way. Sometimes when I toss toys for her she gets excited and goes into zoomie mode (she doesn’t even stop to get the toy…zoom, zoom, zoom!)…there’s definitely a playful girl waiting to come out! Grace Potter seems very aware that she is not at home and not with her people, but shows glimpses of what a source of joy she will be once she is! Please come meet her at Brooklyn ACC and see if you might be her person!
