04/02/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/02/16 17:52 Basic Information: Grace is a 4 year old female Pitbull mix that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Socialization: According to the owner, Grace is great with people that she knows but is very scared of strangers and children. With people in the home, Grace plays with them in a gentle playful manner. When children are around, she becomes protective of herself and others and will hide or run away from them. She has never been around other dogs or cats before so her behavior is unknown. She has never bitten another person or animal before. Behavior: Grace sometimes poops/pees indoors and destroys stuff in the home. She is not bothered by fireworks or storms. NO grooming agents were applied to Grace and she is not bothered when her food bowl, toy or bone are touched. When someone unfamiliar approaches a family member or the home, Grace will sometimes growl and bark. For a New Family to Know: Grace is described as friendly, shy, feraful, and excitable with a medium activity level. She likes any toys she can chew and tends to follow you around the home. When left alone, Grace will chew up things in the home so it is recommended to give her lots of things to chew to keep her busy. Previous owners felt a home without any small children would be best for Grace.

04/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Grace previously lived with 2 adults and a new born baby. The owner stated Grace is very scared of strangers but with the family members she is playful in a gently manner. It was reported by the owner Grace will run and hide from the children and be protected of herself. The owner mentioned Grace can be destructive in the house and she is also not house broken with a medium activity level. The owner describes Grace as friendly, shy, fearful and excitable. During SAFER Grace came into the assessment room quiet and fearful, she was social towards the assessor with a slow approach. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Grace follows with her body low and a bit fearful during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Grace was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Due to some concerns stated from the previous owner Grace will run and hide from children and would protect the owner from the new born baby, the behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter with no young children. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is tense and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, trembles and her tail is between her legs, body a bit tense, mouth closed. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are back. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away. Dog-dog: Grace was reluctant to greet the other dog at the gate. She was coax to the door, where she held a low body posture and avoided eye contact. The other dog was let in the pen and Grace allowed him to approach her while her tail was tuck. She was uncomfortable throughout the interaction.
04/05/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
