A volunteer writes:
I could not resist taking out a pooch wearing my favorite cheese as a given name… Gouda is all excited and wiggly in her kennel. Her eyes are bright, her face displays a large Pitie smile and her tail  is wagging vigorously. She is a little more relaxed than from when she arrived at the care center. Pictures taking is not an easy task as Gouda moves a lot not having yet quite figured out what she is doing in our walls. She “asks”, she “searches” and has not quite  got an answer that reassures her…All those people she never met. All those dogs she has to mingle with…This is so confusing…It takes more time for some dogs(like for some people) to adjust to a new situation and a big change in their life. Gouda is a friendly gal, though. She is ready when you are. Her first task is to relieve herself. She salutes a peer in the lobby and off we go for our walk around the block.  Gouda does a lot of exploring and sniffing.  Could she be related to Dora, the Explorer? Like her, she is a cute  girl, all dressed in patches and could be a member of the “Little Rascals” family. She comes all squirmy when called, sits as requested and takes treats gently from my hand.As I put her back in her kennel, Gouda, gives me a standing hug and a big lick on my face…Friends we are….Little Gouda is looking for a new home to call her own and a master to love. Come and meet her soon at the Manhattan Care Center.
