01/15/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/15/16 15:11 Goose is a young male APBT mix. His finder was doing laundry when someone put him in the basement and left. Goose was friendly with his finder and well-behaved in her home. Goose approached us with a super loose, wiggly body, open mouth, and wagging tail and maintained this while we pet him, scanned him (-), collared him, and positioned him for pictures. He wiggled into our laps while we stooped down and leaned into us while we pet and talked to him. He went into his kennel when asked and rested quietly on his blanket. During his medical exam and vaccines, he wiggled into our lap and cuddled up against us. He went into the van kennel when we asked.
01/17/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Sweeter than sugar, gentle as cotton wool and affectionate as the baby he so nearly is, beautiful Goose reminds me just why I love shy dogs. He’s eager to learn and full of potential and the joy of being his special someone, if only for an afternoon, is richly rewarding. Coaxing him outside, encouraging him on past the loud traffic and carrying him when needed, watching his tail wag in response to other dogs and feeling that warm little body nestle into my lap as he covers my chin with thankful kisses–these are moments to treasure. He walks nicely in a harness, enjoys sniffing all around and does his business promptly and once we hit the park I’m treated to a glimpse of his puppy-ish side as he chases a few squirrels then plops his butt down to wait for a throw of the stick before engaging in an easy-going game of tug. Goose is an affectionate delight and a real find for the lucky family wise enough to see beyond his shyness and swollen neck to the priceless pearl within. He’s young and smart and has so much to give to the world, if only someone will reach out a helping paw to guide him. Could that someone be you?
